In 2014, the Morristown Festival of Books (MFOB) was launched to celebrate the power of the written word. MFOB has welcomed hundreds of highly engaging authors to Morristown — including Pulitzer Prize winners, National Book Award winners, Newbery and Caldecott medalists, and New York Times bestsellers.
The Festival is grateful for the support and generosity of our sponsors and donors, our 150+ annual volunteers, our booksellers, and our community partners who dedicate their time and resources to making the Festival happen, as well as the thousands of attendees who are at the heart of the Festival’s mission.
Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, the 7th annual Morristown Festival of Books slated for October 9 and 10, 2020 in Morristown, New Jersey will not be held. We know this is the right step to help keep everyone safe, and we look forward to seeing you back in our venues along South Street on October 8 & 9, 2021. In the meantime, stay updated through our newsletter and our Facebook, Instagram, Twitter channels.
Thank you for your understanding and ongoing support of our beloved venture. Keep safe and keep reading!
Book festivals happen all over the world and can take many shapes and sizes. Our particular festival is wonderfully unique. (In fact, we’ve been hailed as “the best” and “truly outstanding” by authors, publishers, and delighted participants of all kinds but let’s keep that a little quiet so we don’t make other festivals jealous!)
It’s a two-day event that takes place in the autumn. The opening night is a ticketed Keynote Event featuring an amazing headline speaker. The Main Festival takes place on Saturday (10am – 5pm), rain or shine, at several beautiful locations in the heart of historic downtown Morristown, NJ. The Main Fest, which includes our special KidFest, is open to the public and, aside from select ticketed talks, free of charge. Plan to spend the day and enjoy:
