The Morristown Festival of Books has recently been made aware of scam emails circulating that falsely claim to be from our team. They invite authors to participate. If you receive a suspicious message, please forward it to info@morristownbooks.org, and we will verify its authenticity.

We have seen examples of participation and hotel booking scams.
Reach out to us with any questions and help us keep you safe from impersonators!

Submissions for this year’s Festival are now closed. We look forward to announcing this year’s lineup over the summer! 

For interested authors:

In general and for future consideration, please know that invitations are extended to authors whose books are published by commercial publishers. Due to space limitations, the Festival is unable to feature:

      • Self-published titles
      • Books published by vanity or subsidy presses, joint-venture presses, or print-on-demand services

For both Main Festival and KidFest: Submissions are limited to authors who are promoting a title released or releasing in the Festival year to which they would like to apply. In rare instances, if an author has a popular, ongoing series, there may be exceptions made.

Submission status: The 2026 Festival submission window is now closed. We kindly request that you refrain from contacting us to check the status of your interest form.

Programming limitations: A reminder that the majority of authors appearing at the Festival are determined by our year-round collaboration with publishing industry professionals. Submissions that meet the criteria noted above will be considered, within the limitations of programming needs and event size that guide our selection process.
