The Loves of Theodore Roosevelt: The Women Who Created a President offers a revisionist history of the rugged Rough Rider we think we know and instead celebrates five extraordinary women whose stories are lost in history – Theodore Roosevelt’s mother, two wives, and two sisters. This book gives readers a dazzling and lyrical look at one of America’s most significant presidents as we’ve never seen him before and proves that women played a much larger role in TR’s life and legacy than has been previously understood or acknowledged – that TR, the most masculine president in American memory, was the product of women.
A dazzling and lyrical look at the making of one of America’s most remarkable presidents, The Loves of Theodore Roosevelt celebrates five extraordinary yet unsung women who opened the door to the American Century and pushed Theodore Roosevelt through it.
